Creating a Review Cycle

Creating a Review Cycle

Performance Reviews in Dual Dash are built from real work.

A Review Cycle defines who is being reviewed, who provides feedback, and the time period being evaluated.

Once created, the system gathers data and organizes feedback into one place for discussion.

Start a Review Cycle

To create a review cycle:

  1. Open Performance Reviews
  2. Click Create Review Cycle
  3. Select the employee being reviewed

Each review is created for one individual at a time.

Set the Review Period

Define the start and end date for the review.

This time range determines what data is included, such as:

  • Goals and tasks completed
  • Action items
  • Recognition (STARS)
  • KPI performance

The review reflects what happened during this period.

Add Participants

You can include multiple perspectives in the review.

Manager
The manager creating the review is automatically included.

Self Review
The employee being reviewed will complete a self-assessment.

Peers
You can add peers who have worked closely with the employee.

Each participant will receive a notification to complete their portion of the review.

Send the Review

Once everything is set:

  • Send the review to participants
  • Each person completes their assessment
  • Responses are collected in one place

Participants may have the option to submit feedback anonymously, depending on your setup.

Review the Results

After responses are submitted, the system compiles:

  • Performance data from Dual Dash
  • Survey responses from participants

This creates a complete view of performance — both measurable results and feedback.

Discuss in a 1:1

The review is brought into a 1:1 meeting as an agenda topic.

During the conversation, the manager and employee:

  • Review scores together
  • Discuss feedback and context
  • Align on next steps

This turns the review into a conversation, not just a document.

Sign Off

At the end of the review:

  • The employee can sign off with comments
  • Or choose to not sign if they disagree

Once completed, the review is stored and moved to archive.

Stay Informed

Participants receive:

  • Email notifications
  • In-app notifications

This ensures everyone knows when they need to take action.
