Sending STARs

STARS make recognition simple.

They allow you to acknowledge great work as it happens and share appreciation across your organization.

Recognition doesn’t need to wait. It should happen in real time.

Send a STAR

To send a STAR:

  1. Open Recognition or select STAR from a supported tool
  2. Choose the person you want to recognize
  3. Add a short message describing what they did
  4. Tag any company values they demonstrated
  5. Send the STAR

Keep it specific so the recognition is meaningful.

What to Recognize

STARS are meant for individuals or small groups.

Use them to highlight moments like:

  • Helping a teammate
  • Delivering strong results
  • Demonstrating company values
  • Going above and beyond
  • Stepping up when it matters

Recognition is most powerful when it reflects real work.

Send STARS Anywhere

You can send STARS from multiple places in Dual Dash.

For example:

  • From Scorecards when performance stands out
  • From Meetings (1:1s) during conversations
  • From Recognition directly

This makes it easy to recognize great work without breaking your flow.

Make It Meaningful

A good STAR is:

  • Specific — what exactly did they do
  • Timely — sent close to the moment
  • Connected to values — how they showed up

This helps reinforce not just results, but the behaviors behind them.

Recognition Flows Across the Organization

STARS aren’t limited by role.

They can be sent:

  • Manager to employee
  • Employee to employee
  • Executive to manager
  • Across teams

Recognition works best when it moves in every direction.

Build a Culture of Recognition

When recognition becomes part of daily work:

  • People feel seen
  • Positive behaviors increase
  • Teams stay connected

Small moments of recognition add up over time.
