Creating Surveys

Surveys in Dual Dash are designed to collect feedback at the right moments.

Each survey type has its own purpose, timing, and structure.

Start by choosing the survey type that matches what you’re trying to learn.

Choose a Survey Type

When creating a survey, you’ll first select the type.

Each type is built for a specific moment in the employee lifecycle.

Onboarding
Sent automatically to new employees based on their start date.

Employee Engagement
Scheduled with a defined start and end date to measure morale and alignment.

Employee Experience
Also scheduled with a start and end date, focused on how work feels across the organization.

Training Event
Includes both a pre-survey and post-survey, scheduled around a specific training.

Exit
Sent when an employee is marked as terminated or leaving.

Each type ensures feedback is collected at the right time.

Set the Timing

Depending on the survey type, you’ll define when the survey is sent.

  • Engagement and Experience surveys require a start date and end date
  • Training Event surveys require pre and post timing
  • Onboarding and Exit surveys are triggered automatically

Setting the right timing ensures responses are relevant and accurate.

Select Your Questions

Each survey type includes a built-in question library.

These questions are designed to be:

  • Valid
  • Reliable
  • Easy to understand

You can use the provided questions or adjust them as needed.

Choose Question Types

Dual Dash supports multiple question formats:

  • Likert scale (Strongly Disagree → Strongly Agree)
  • Multiple choice
  • Dichotomous (Yes / No)
  • Open-ended

This allows you to collect both structured data and written feedback.

Set Minimum Group Reporting

To protect confidentiality, Dual Dash uses minimum group reporting when displaying results by demographic groups.

You can define the minimum number of responses required before data is shown.

  • The lowest setting is 3
  • Groups with fewer responses will not be displayed

This ensures individual responses cannot be identified and helps employees feel safe sharing honest feedback.

Edit Before Launch

You can make changes to your survey up until the scheduled start date.

This includes:

  • Updating questions
  • Adjusting wording
  • Changing timing

Once the survey begins, it becomes active and responses are collected.

Share the Survey

Each survey includes a shareable link.

You can copy and distribute this link if needed.

This is helpful when:

  • Sharing outside normal workflows
  • Following up with participants
  • Distributing manually

What’s Next

Once your survey is live, responses will begin to come in.
