Growth Plans Explained

Growth doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens when people focus on the right things and work on them intentionally over time.

That’s the purpose of Growth Plans in Dual Dash.

Growth Plans help employees and managers identify areas for development and create a clear path for improvement.

Development With Focus

Instead of vague goals like “get better at communication” or “improve leadership,” Growth Plans focus on specific areas that matter inside the system.

Users can build Growth Plans by selecting:

Performance Drivers — the behaviors that influence results
Technical Skills — the technical capabilities required for a role

This keeps development connected to the way performance is actually evaluated.

Improving Behaviors

Sometimes growth means improving how work gets done.

Performance Drivers help employees strengthen behaviors such as:

• communication
• accountability
• preparation
• collaboration
• follow-through

Focusing on these drivers helps reinforce the habits that support strong performance.

Building Capability

Growth can also focus on what someone can execute in their role.

Role Skills represent the technical capabilities needed to succeed in a position.

These skills are tracked across four levels:

Not Trained
Trained
Mastered

Growth Plans can help employees move from one level to the next.

Guided Development

Growth Plans are often discussed during 1:1 meetings.

Managers and employees can review development goals, talk about progress, and identify opportunities to practice new skills or behaviors.

Over time, this creates a consistent rhythm of development rather than occasional feedback.

Preparing for Future Roles

Growth Plans also help employees prepare for future roles.

If someone wants to grow into a new position, they can begin working on the Performance Drivers and Technical Skills associated with that role.

This makes career growth more visible and intentional.

What’s Next

Growth Plans help employees build the behaviors and capabilities that support long-term success.

But organizations also need structured moments to step back and review performance more broadly.

That’s where Performance Reviews come in.

Performance Reviews bring together insights from across Dual Dash — including Scorecards, Success Drivers, and ongoing conversations — to create a more complete view of performance.
