Growth Plans

Growth Plans are used to develop people over time.

They focus on improving:

  • Performance Drivers (how you work)
  • Role Skills (what you can do)

Each plan is structured, measurable, and connected to real work inside Dual Dash.

How Growth Plans Work

Growth Plans are built around a simple idea:

Focus on a small number of areas and improve them over time.

Each plan includes:

  • Selected Performance Drivers or Role Skills
  • A defined success outcome
  • A development approach
  • A set timeframe (typically 30, 60, or 90 days)

Plans are designed to be actionable, not theoretical.

Career Direction

Before creating a Growth Plan, users select a Career Direction.

Options include:

  • New to role and building confidence
  • Established and improving specific areas
  • Performing well and preparing for a future role
  • Strong performance and maintaining consistency

This determines what content is shown in the plan.

Current Role vs Future Role

Growth Plans can focus on:

Current Role

Users work on improving:

  • Performance Drivers
  • Role Skills tied to their current job

Future Role

If preparing for the next step, users can select a future role.

The plan will then include:

  • Performance Drivers for that role
  • Role Skills required for that role

This allows development before the role becomes available.

One Plan at a Time

Users can only have one active Growth Plan at a time.

This ensures:

  • Focus
  • Clarity
  • Better follow-through

Once completed, a new plan can be created by selecting a new Career Direction.

Development Methods

Each Growth Plan includes a method for development.

Examples include:

  • Coaching
  • Mentoring
  • Shadowing
  • Training
  • On-the-job practice

This defines how the skill or behavior will improve.

Connection to Meetings

Growth Plans are not separate from daily work.

They appear inside:

  • 1:1 Meetings

This allows managers and employees to:

  • Track progress
  • Discuss challenges
  • Adjust as needed

Development becomes part of regular conversations.

How Progress Is Measured

Progress is based on improvement in:

  • Performance Drivers
  • Role Skills

These are evaluated over time through:

  • Feedback
  • Observations
  • Ongoing conversations

The goal is consistent growth, not one-time completion.

Why Growth Plans Matter

Growth Plans help organizations:

  • Build internal talent
  • Prepare employees for future roles
  • Improve performance in current roles

They turn development into a system, not a one-time event.
